"spin me gently" gallery show 2007 |

i ask that you spin me gently whether I am you, your child, your love, one of the animals of this world, or the world itself. I can say that all this work is about connection to one another by way of deep kinship with the earth. This was my “theme” for this show, and overall it is perfectly true. But when it comes down to it, this work is me asking anyone who will listen to lay down in the morning grass and let the moisture soak through your nice clothes, to walk by the river at night and hear the whisper of the water, to feel the rough bark of an old tree against your cheek and know it is your elder who is to be respected, to fall wide open to the wolf, or bird, or hare inside you, the wild thing who makes you know that there is no separation between “us” and the planet. We are a part of the being of the earth, and it is truly the one thing that connects us all. |
